Knuti’s Advent greetings/Knutis Grüsse zum Advent

I dedicate this little story to today’s birthday child Ewa in Orsa. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EWA!
Hallo, Ihr Lieben! Wie die Zeit verfliegt – Weihnachten steht vor der Tür. Ich mag diese Zeit des Jahres, weil sie zwei Highlight hat: .meinen Geburtstag und Weihnachten ….und beide Feste bringen mir köstliche Leckereien und viiiiiele Geschenke!
Hello dear friends! How time flies – the Christmas season is already here. I love this time of the year since there are two big events coming – my birthday and the Christmas … and they both mean yammy food and lots of gifts!
Nach dem Großreinemachen in unserer Anlage war es höchste Zeit,
Ich hab überall Kerzen, schöne Blumen und anderen Schmuck platziert. Ich hoff ich bloß, dass die drei verfressenen Damen meine schöne Deko nicht auffuttern! Ich muss schon sagen, dass ich allmählich richtig in Weihnachtsstimmung komme.
After making the complete cleaning operation in our enclosure it was time to start with the Christmas decorations. I’ve placed candles, beautiful flowers and other decorations all over the place. Now I just hope the three gluttaneous ladies won’t eat my fine decorations! I must say I’m getting into the right Christmas spirit.
Die Tantchen waren mal wieder keine große Hilfe. Na ja, ich schätz, dass ich ohne ihre Hilfe eh besser zurechtkomme. Schaut euch das an! Ich hatte mir schon einen etwas grüneren kleinen Baum vorgestellt….
The Aunties haven’t been much help today either. Well, I guess I’m better off without their help. Just look at this! I had a little greener tree in my mind….

Die Weihnachtsmärkte sind jetzt auch auf und natürlich möchte ich meine Einkäufe rechtzeitig erledigen. Ich hab auch schon ein paar schöne Weihnachtsgeschenke für meine Freunde gefunden, aber das kann ich euch natürlich nicht verraten, denn es soll schon eine Überraschung sein. Vielleicht kann ich ja so viel verraten, dass ich ein paar schöne Ochsenschwänze gefunden habe – das war ein Sonderangebot und deshalb geh ich davon aus, dass ich ein echtes Schnäppchen gemacht habe! Ich hab auch ein sehr elegantes Lachsparfum mit einem zarten Hauch von Lebertran gefunden … oh mei, da leck ich mir doch wieder die Lippen..
The Christmas markets have opened, too and of course, I want to do my shopping in good time. I found some nice Christmas gifts for my friends but I can’t tell you what they are because I want them to be a surprise. Maybe I can reveal that I found some nice oxtails – there was a special offer so I think I did a real bargain! I also found very elegant salmon perfume with a light air of fish liver oil … oh my, here my tongue is wagging again……

Es ist ja so herrlich, auf dem Ku’Damm zu flanieren und all die Lichter zu betrachten…. Aus irgendeinem Grund hab ich die große Straße immer für mich, wenn ich dort spazieren gehe. Wohin verschwinden die ganzen Leute denn? Und warum eigentlich?? Nun denn, ich liebe den Duft von Lebkuchen, Glühwein, Christstollen, Marzipan und alle anderen Essensdüfte. Der Schmuck sieht so anheimelnd aus. Hehehe, jetzt hab ich mich doch glatt dabei ertappt, wie ich ‚Jimgle Bells‘ vor mich hinbrumme……
It’s so wonderful to stroll along Ku’Damm and see all the lights…. For some reason I always have the big street for myself when I go walking. Where do all the people vanish? And why?? Anyway, I love the smell of Lebkuchen, Glühwein, Christstollen, Marzipane and all the food. The decorations look so lovely…. Hehehe, I found myself growling Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells…..
Natürlich habe ich auch einen Adventskalender. Eigentlich hab ich ja sogar zwei! Vielleicht könnt ihr ja in dem da sogar einen der Schneemänner wiederkennen?
Of course, I have an Advent calender. Actually – I have two of them! Maybe you can recognize one of the Frosties in this one?

Oh, wie hast Du Dir das wieder alles niedlich ausgedacht und with a little help of your friends/secretaries [MERVI (text, typing, COLLAGES) and BÄRGIT (translation) thanks to you!] hier eingestellt. Weiß Du, Du süßer Weihnachtsbär, einerseits mag ich ja diese Zeit auch, vor allem aber die Erinnerung daran aus sehr viel früheren Zeiten. Heute bin ich meist doch eher froh, wenn sie vorbei ist und die Tage wieder länger und heller werden. Sei ganz beruhigt “mein” großer Kleiner, für den 5. Dezember habe ich ein besonders schönes und großes Blümchen in meinen Kalender gezeichnet – wie jedes Jahr seit 2007, also nun schon zum 4. Mal. Ich werde Dich ganz bestimmt nicht vergessen! Kannst Du nicht bitte die RBB-Leutchen mal ganz zart in die Waden beißen als Erinnerung, dass sie eine Möglichkeit suchen wollten, wie wir wieder an den gesamten “rbb Knuts Blog” = ALLE Einträge, links, Videos etc. von Beginn im Jahr 2007 bis zum Ende 2009/Anfang 2010 herankommen können . . . Wäre toll! Aber bitte nicht zuu kräftig zubeißen … Könnte ja sein, Du und wir brauchen sie noch . . .;-)

You did a great job again. The enclosure looks very beautiful with Christmas decorations. I would like to go shopping with Knut. He looks very nice at the Christmas market.
I marked the 5th December in my calender too. In our cellar a huge pumpkin is waiting for Knut’s Birthday.

what a beautiful story you wrote with Herr Knuti! But fish liver oil – oh dear god! That reminds me of the stuff I had to swallow as a child when i was too skinny. I guess you have to be a polar bear to like that. I prefer

thanks a lot for helping Knut with his beautiful story and the collages! Knut you did an absolutely great job in decorating your enclosure! Well, obviously the thre ladies have recognized that there’s a man in the house – well Knut, and thats something you must learn for your life: as long as there is a REAL man in the house they leave the work to him, because man usually are more skilled with tools!
Dear Knut, no wonder you are alone on Kurfürstendamm – look into the mirror and you will see a very handsome but also a very tall and strong polar bear!

if this charming article is not a good start into the Christmas Season 2011, then I do not know what would be better. The collages are so nicely done and the text is just wonderful. As Yeo also hopes I wonder whether we will have the chance to meet Knut on the Weihnachtsmarkt next week in Bärlin.
We even have a beautiful Adventskalender. You and Knut were thinking of everything which is heartwarming for this special season.
Thank you so much for all your efforts, not only for the Christmas Season, but all the year through, you provide us with so many nice surprises. Please take good care of all your creative ambitions, they are of great value.
