Schön Knut und die Bärinnen so entspannt auf der Anlage zu sehen, sie geniessen die Sonne. Knut's Cheerleader Tatzen begeistern mich immer wieder neu, er liegt da wie ein kleiner Bär ... was er ja auch noch ist. Danke für die wieder tollen Bilder.

Hello, I do not know whether this is the right place to post my little report, but if not, please help me and transfer it to the right "corner".
Good afternoon Dear All,
Yesterday, I went to Aywaille (Monde Sauvage) hoping to see the little baby polar bear, that was born last November. It was their first day of the new season. But, unfortunately, when I asked one of the keepers whether mother and child would be presented, he informed me that the enclosure is not yet ready. For the simple reason that their male polar bear has destroyed it again and also because of damages caused by the heavy Winter. And although I was a bit sad, I nevertheless enjoyed my visit there. It was actually very funny. When we arrived there, all staff members were doing their utterly best to start their first day and here and there we had a little waiting time. Aywaille is having another concept than a Zoo. It is more comparable to a wild park. As from Mid November through Mid March, it is closed and most of the animals are kept inside in their warm stables. By the way, I also learned that they do not receive any subsidies and have to make their own turnover and profit (which puts of course a serious burden on all and everything). In general, the enclosures are rather very spacious and it is nice to walk around there. We started with a little “s afari” and I must say that – albeit in a car – it is quite impressing to come so close to the animals (believe me, sometimes, I quickly closed the windows because that distance became a bit too small). Lots of the animals can walk freely around there and because we were early, they all had breakfast time. Then, we entered the “closed” park and visited the other animals. And needless to say that the brown bears were having my special attention. Their enclosure is really very huge. There are one male (as the keeper told us, a former circus bear, who was in very bad condition and de-clawed when he arrived there. According to the information they got in the beginning, it was not possible to keep him with other animals, but they never faced problems) and four females. With regard to the polar bears, although I have not seen them yet, while walking around there, I realized that if there is a place where there is a chance to create a second Orsa (of course, smaller than the original), it is here. The only thing that is lacking is the money, but they surely do have the space!!!
And the biggest surprise of all: when we were sitting in the restaurant (delicious food, but of course, that is normal, you are in Belgium and we Belgianq know what good food is!!!), the keeper we met before, came to our table and gave us a free ticket because we could not visit baby (although he showed us a pic on his handy and now I regret for not having taken a pic of that!!! Dummy that I am). He also promised that as soon as mother and child be will outside, Aywaille will announced it on their website. And so, needless to say that I will go back!!! I want to see that petietje.

Doris, ich habe die gestrigen Übungen von Knut heute morgen nachgemacht. Es sah allerdings nicht so elegant aus wie bei Knut, aber als ich die Knoten wieder auflöste, stand ich am Eisbärgehege. Hat doch super geklappt.Zur Nachahmung empfohlen! 
Heute Morgen haben die Bären noch geschlafen. Als sie dann munter wurden, ging Tosca zu Knut. Ein kurzes Busseln und dann kam Nancy dazu. Mit Nancy hat Knut dann wieder sehr lange geschmust. Tosca zog sich zurück. Nancy probierte immer wieder an Knut`s Ohr zu kommen, was er aber geschickt abwehrte.
Zur Fütterung gab es heute für Alle von Knutfreunden gesponserten Lachs.
Tosca spielte lange im Wasser mit Kordel und Baumstamm. Nancy widmete sich der alten "Baumkrücke", und Kati jagte Knut über die Anlage. Knut schwamm dann zur Tosca-Insel. Kurze Zeit später sprang Kati hinterher und schwamm auch zur Insel.

Die Begegnung mit Knut und Katjuscha, sowie die "Lachs-Fütterung" gibt es gleich noch auf einem Video.
Fotos davon gibt es bestimmt nachher noch von Doris und Jessie, falls Doris dazu noch in der Lage ist. Denn sie hat heute die Sonne voll ausgekostet und sich sogar die Jacke ausgezogen.

Danke auch an, Monika, für den Frühreport . Auch ich war heute im Zoo, ab Mittag. Die Bären ruhten. Knut hielt sich weiterhin auf der Insel auf. Als die Bärinnen die große Anlage verließen, musste nun die große Aufgabe von Knut gelöst werden: Wie erreiche ich halbwegs trocken das Festland. Am Ende lief er durchs Wasser und blieb somit halbtrocken. Cleveres Bärchen
