When I look at them my feelings are going from the tears to laughter .... and I'm sure our bear angel wants us to remember him with a smile.
Thinking about a fluffy bear angel being always with us - no matter where we live is a great comfort to me. I hope it is for you, too. Loving Knuti gave us so much, loosing him hurts more than we ever could imagine but nobody can take the wonderful memories away from us. .... and nobody can ever take the beautiful bear angel away from us....

I thank you very much from the deep of my heart for the wonderful and touching memories - photos, collages, words - you share here, in what I like to lovingly name (if Hartmuth does not mind, obviously) "Knut's Great Family House".
Here, Knut will live for ever. But not only here: in fact, I firmly believe that our beloved little Knut's Spirit lives everyhere, in Earth as well as in Heaven, and is with us for ever, until the end of times,
May you all have a peaceful and quiet night.

Dear Mervi,
you are so right. There are so many good things our Knuti has taught us. He was unique. Perhaps he had to die in this way to help other animals? To take the suffering out of the lives of all zoo animals?
Years ago - quite a while before Knuti was born - i had a dream of a large white animal floating in the water just beneath the surface. That was around Easter, therefore my association was that of a lamb, symbolizing sacrifice.
When i first saw pictures and films of Knuti i identified with this tiny noisy bundle because of the circumstances of his birth. I fell in love with the helpless creature, his strong will to survive and his loudly expressed desires for food, for love, for safety.
Later , when he grew up and was able to swim and to dive I remembered the image of my dream - the way strong images tend to come to the mind again when a similar image happens to turn up in the real world. I thought this could be the image i had seen in that dream long before as it sometimes occurrs - to point at an important time of our life when things are changing. I tried to find this image among the fotos, done by lucky people who live in Berlin, and saved them in a special file "The Floating White Animal".
Then we saw Knut die. We all saw his dead body floating in the water.
There have been strong emotions within each of us, there were tears, a lot of tears, there was a lot of anger and there was regrett. Today - 40 days after his death - peace has come into my soul. I can accept what has happend to Knut and it is my fervent wish that each of you could feel in a similar way. Incidentally (although i know that there isn't anything like an incident) the change came around Easter, on Good Friday , while i was listening to Johann Sebastian Bach's " St. John's Passion". Now i know that the image in my dream was of Knut.
Knut was sent to us. His life and death are part of the plan.
Our creator doesn't make any difference between human beings and animals. To him all beings are equal.
It would be wonderful if you kept "Knuti's Weekly" running.

Heute morgen schaute ich wieder in den Himmel
was ich jeden morgen mache und mit Knut rede....
es war zum schluß nur einen wunderschönen Stern zusehen..es war Knut

Das war eine sehr glückliche Zeit in 2007 mit dem Mulch.
Knut dreckig auf dem Sandhaufen ist auch wunderschön. Damals war er rund, puschelig und dreckig.

Doris,Hartmuth, Sylvia,Monika,Mervi,Barbara, Birbit B, Ursula,Sabine,Lily...: I don't know how to express my sincere thanks to all of you. Anyone who once fell in love with Knut, will never be able to forget him and stop loving him.
Sometimes, I couldn't count how many reasons that make me have a deep love with Knut and then your photos, your collage, your words...on Knut's diary finally help me know why I love him so much! Knut is not only the great creature and so Thomas is, but all his lovers are also wonderful with their adorable hearts. Big love from Vietnam
